Tell us about yourself. 43 years old, father of two daughters (21 & 12), I’m an Account Executive for Valley Communications, Inc., I love to play golf, softball (indoor & outdoor), basketball, kayak, backpack & camp. I have played a lot of sports over the years but this is really my first run at working out/training (consistently) at a gym/box.
When did you start training at Crossfit Echelon and what made you pick this box? I started training at Crossfit Echelon in December of 2015. I chose to give this box a try because of the great reviews I read on on Yelp, the location in contrast to my Office and Home and great Groupon deal for the 1st (introduction) month.
What is you Favorite lift/workout? Push/Shoulder Press, Back/Front Squats, Deadlifts, Fight Gone Bad
What is your Least Favorite lift/workout? Overhead squats, Wall Balls, Pull Ups, Filthy Fifty
What sort of changes have you noticed in your body, health and fitness since starting at CrossFit Echelon? Since I started training at Crossfit Echelon I have seen numerous changes to my body, health and fitness. I have lost about 25 pounds while gaining muscle mass, strength and overall stamina. I feel like I am getting in the best shape of my life and the results I see on a daily basis is feeding my motivation to push even harder. I find myself looking forward to workout day even if I know it will leave me lying on the floor in a pool of sweat at the end of the WOD. I cant wait to see more results and further transformation in the future.
What do you feel has been the biggest impact our community of athletes has made in your life? The motivation and support from the Crossfit Echelon trainers and athletes has been great. I feel like its one of the key reasons I have been able to make the strides I have to this point. Having trainers that are great motivators while being dedicated to teaching the right techniques and being a part of a community of athletes that motivate/support you while they are grinding through the workout along side you should be a huge factor when choosing a box. Crossfit Echelon has all of that and more.
What are your personal and/or athletic goals in the next 3-12 months? In the next 3 months I would like to build up my cardio, make further gains in muscle/strength and clean up my technique in all movements. In the next 6 months I would like to continue losing weight and be able to perform movements/lifts that I currently cant complete orperform at Rx. In the next 12 months I hope to get to my weight loss goal, perform majority of movements/lifts at Rx and be in the best shape of my life!
What advice would you give to a beginner just joining CrossFit Echelon? Don’t let the negative stories you may of heard about Crossfit boxes, trainers or injuries prevent you from checking out Crossfit Echelon. Be ready to get motivated, work hard, push your limits, get in great shape and be a part of a great community of trainers & athletes
